All exits of the WHSD interchange with Shuvalovsky Prospekt are open to traffic

On November 29, 2021, the interchange between the WHSD and Shuvalovsky Prospekt was fully opened to traffic. In addition to the previously opened exits, a new exit from the WHSD became available to drivers when driving from the North (from the side of the E-18 "Scandinavia" highway).

The creation of the Shuvalovo interchange in the Primorsky District of St. Petersburg began in November 2019.

In September 2021, traffic was opened on the first start-up complex of the interchange, which includes three exits.

The first start-up complex of the new interchange has already shown the demand among motorists. The average daily traffic volume was about 25 thousand vehicles.

Shuvalovskaya interchange contributes to the redistribution of traffic flows on the overloaded street and road network of the Primorsky district by redirecting part of the traffic from Savushkina and Planernaya streets, provides accessibility of residential areas of Kamenka and Yuntolovo, and in future after the piercing of Shuvalovsky pr. to Primorsky sh. it will create a transport link from Primorsky highway - WHSD - Parashyutnaya street, providing additional exit from Primorsky highway to the northern part of the city.

At the same time, the new interchange has already had a significant impact on reducing the traffic load from the WHSD interchange with Bogatyrsky Prospekt, which by now has almost exhausted its throughput capacity during peak hours.

The customer of the construction of the interchange is Joint Stock Company "Western High-Speed Diameter", which is 100% owned by the city. The general contractor is JSC "PO" Vozrozhdeniye".
