On May 22, 10 thsd citizens of St. Petersburg and the city visitors took part in the third annual WHSD Festival, famous for its run and cycling ride on the Western High-Speed Diameter toll motorway.
The festival brought together 10 thsd enthusiasts of sports and those who support an active lifestyle to gain an experience of running and riding on one of the most beautiful routes of the city.
The Festival began with the 10 km race and semi-marathon. The cyclists hit the track at 9 p.m. and had a chance to enjoy the city views before the sun went down.
The festival was opened by the vice-governor of St. Petersburg Maxim Sokolov, CEO of the Northern Capital Highway, LLC Alexey Bnatov, head of the Primorsky district administration Nikolay Tsed, the CEO of Fontanka.ru Dmitry Vitkovsky and the chief editor Alexandr Gorshkov.
The festival became a long-awaited event for all the participants. The festival was cancelled in 2020 because of the COVID-19 pandemic.
