Opening of the junction with Shuvalovsky Prospekt: new routes will be available to drivers from 17:00 on September 14

On September 14, 2021 A.D. Beglov, Governor of St. Petersburg, took part in the opening ceremony of the working traffic of Stage I of the Western High-Speed Diameter intersection with Shuvalovsky Prospekt.
From 17:00 on September 14, new routes will be available to drivers:
-The entrance from Shuvalovsky Prospekt to the WHSD in the direction of the Ring Road (North);
-The entrance from Shuvalovsky Prospekt to the WHSD towards Bogatyrsky Prospekt;
-Exit from WHSD to Shuvalovski prospect when driving from the South.
According to JSC "WHSD", the traffic on the exit from the WHSD to Shuvalovsky Prospekt when driving from the North is planned to open in October 2021.
The traffic interchange at the intersection with Shuvalovsky Prospekt is located in Primorsky District of St. Petersburg, most of whose territory is included in the zone of gravity of the interchange.
Primorsky district is one of the largest city's districts, with a population of over 580,000 people and about 500,000 inhabitants (10% of St. Petersburg's population) in the interchange catchment area. It is also the leading district in terms of new construction and birth rate, with 20% of new housing built in Primorsky District.
Transport interchange with WHSD at the intersection with Shuvalovsky Prospekt will relieve the load on Savushkina Street and Planernaya Street, ensure accessibility of residential areas of Kamenka and Yuntolovo, and in future, after the breakdown of Shuvalovsky Prospekt to Primorskoye Shosse, will create a transport link between Primorskoye Shosse - WHSD - Parashutnaya Street, providing additional exit from Primorskoye Shosse to the northern part of the city.
At the same time, the new interchange will reduce the traffic load from the interchange between the WHSD and Bogatyrsky Prospekt, which is currently the most in-demand on the Western High-Speed Diameter.
