WHSD is an investment project of international caliber being implemented in St. Petersburg. The
construction of WHSD is an example of the world major public private partnership in the field of road

In 1966 the project of the motorway connecting the southern and northern parts of Leningrad and running close to the Sea port was integrated into the general city plan.
In 1996 was approved the plan of designing the Western High-Speed Diameter motorway.
