The Head of environmental department in NCH told about the best practices drainage to Russian and Finnish colleagues.

The intramural conference was held on September 17 in St. Petersburg within the framework of the international environmental project "RAINMAN" dedicated to adaptive water resources management in the face of climate change. The participants of this project are the State Unitary Enterprise "Vodokanal", the Voeikov Main Geophysical Observatory, State Hydrological Institute, Geological Survey of Finland, and Government of Mikkeli etc.
During the conference, the participants got acquainted with the best practices from the two countries.
Alexei Zotov, Head of the Environmental Protection Department of the Northern Capital Highway, made a presentation on the operation of surface wastewater facilities, describing the successful practices implemented at the WHSD.
- One of the significant positive effects of the creation of the Western High-Speed ​​Diameter is environmental. The advantages of a modern highway in this area are multifaceted: they include the latest treatment facilities, noise protection structures, reduction of emissions due to the transfer of traffic to the optimal traffic mode, and unloading of the city street and road network, where application of the latest technologies is not possible. We are always willing to share our positive experience with colleagues and consider all the latest developments and scientific achievements for their potential implementation in our practice of environmentally correct operation, - Alexei Zotov commented on the results of the conference.
